ASHEVILLE CITIZEN-TIMES WEDNESDAY, JUNE 9, 1993 WEST NEIGHBORS Education Student honors Jody Woodyard, a sophom*ore at Erwin High School, has been named as winner of the Buncombe County Schools Foundation's 1993 Modern Foreign Languages StudyAbroad Scholarship. Woodyard will use the scholar- Woodyard ship to study Spanish for four weeks this summer in San Jose, Costa Rica. Woodyard is the first winner of the scholarship which was established last fall to promote foreign language study in Buncombe County Schools. She has studied Spanish for three years and is a member of Erwin High's girls' volleyball team. Woodyard is the daughter of Brenda Knight of Alexander.
